Kitcrew Rescue is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit and foster-based rescue that works with all sorts of cats, such as providing for established cat colonies, trapping and fixing intact cats before release, and also rescuing cats and kittens that have even the slightest chance of adoption.
and absolutely all of it is community funded through content, which means you’re a part of this too.
Apoinsettia is the founder of Kit Crew Rescue, who has been working with cats as a volunteer since 2019 in rescues and started working with cat colonies on his own accord using content as a resource in 2020, and eventually founding Kit Crew Rescue in 2022. When not filming, Apoinsettia would work in an animal shelter, then as a vet assistant in an animal hospital to a veterinary technician, all to further his understanding of cats and to better assist them in his personal life, and of course posting content with the goal of raising funds to help.
aka Mikey
A kitten that was taken into the rescue showing signs of Swimmer’s Syndrome, a disability involving a kittens ability to walk. Mikey had a tough road right ahead, and with some effort and support from people like you, Mikey was able to learn to walk and was adopted into a loving home.
Hopscotch was a regular on the channel via his appearance on the livestreams that fans knew of as a shy cat that rarely ever came out. One day during a routine stream, Hopscotch was notably injured leading to his immediate trapping and taken to a vet that accepted strays.
The assessment was that Hopscotch, this young stray cat would need his leg amputated and thanks to the community they raised over $2,500 in a single day for his surgery which was a complete success, and Hopscotch became a popular figure amongst the community for his complete turn around after being taken in, now being a loving cat grateful for his second chance.
Hopscotch would be featured on The Dodo.
Clover is another unique case, in which she was born with only three legs but still needed a leg amputation. Why? Because the bone fragment of where her leg should be was still inside cutting her from the inside, she even had a scar from the bone previously opening her up from the inside at under two months old.
Once again, the community fund raised her surgery to get the last remaining bone fragments removed and she was adopted quickly. Despite only having 3 legs, it didn’t set her back she’s still considered one of the most hyper rescues Apoinsettia has ever seen.
