History and Lore
When the Newcomers were introduced to the Alley colony, there were several new faces Apoinsettia had a hard time keeping track of, especially as not all came out at once, and instead at different intervals. In the early days of the newcomers, immediately after Apo ended a Twitch livestream in the area, a russian blue kitten emerged from the bushes and ate some of the food Apo left out, where he let the community know of the cats discovery, as it was a kitten with an eye concern.
Apoinsettia returned to the colony, using a carrier that he covered the back side he was closer to with a blanket. He left food in the carrier, and removed his beloved slides to be more quiet when approaching the carrier. Closing the door behind the kitten, Apo left with the carrier. The kitten was quiet the whole time, and Twitch Chat named her fleur, during a stream where Apoinsettia played Minecraft with the new rescue kitten in another cam.
Fleur was rescued, and although during her time with Apo was a week long, she was considered socialized. She was not on overly friendly cat, but was not mean or hostile, and enjoyed sleeping a lot. She was taken to a shelter Apo worked at where in the early days she had been antagonistic, she eventually opened up. Her eye was treated during her stay, which was still watery, ended up becoming clearer, supposedly due to infection. She was later adopted out to a home.
Fleur was the first of the Russian Blues to be found in the Fence subcolony, meaning she was not a Follower of Vlad as she never was named after a Russian namesake, and was discovered before Vlad.
Personality
Fleur had a limited time to interact with Apoinsettia, but in her time was not aggressive towards him. She had a playpen similar to Cookies and Cream did, and similar to where The Florals stayed. She was nervous to be touched, often shaking in the early days, but before being admitted to a shelter Apo worked at so he could watch her growth. She began to lean into pets, and let out chirps. She enjoys to be wrapped up.
Appearance
Fleur was known for a variety of interesting features, the most prominent being her disturbed eye. This eye trait may be hereditary rather than something contagious, as other cats such as Sadie and #Blessed had the same concern. This eye appears to be slightly shut, with eyes incredibly watery. No other cat in the colony has had this, and none of the others have had it go away. When Fleur was to be adopted, her eye was not watery showing a yellow eye beneath everything, but was smaller than the other, further hinting it may be genetic.
Theory has gone around that the Newcomers have a history of inbreeding due to their oddly small sized adult cats such as Maradona and Mittens, and genetic defects such as the eye concern Sadie and #Blessed have. This was not considered with Fleur initially until much later as the Newcomers were still new and getting used to.
